Albany (NY) Alumni Chapter 

Founded in 1971

The Krimson & Kream at the Kasino was on May 5, 2018 at Rivers Casino & Resort in Schenectady,  NY.  Over $40,000 in scholarships awarded to high school seniors over the last few years.

 

The Fraternity and Chapter continues to mourn the loss of our beloved Brother Jeffrey Fryar.  God called Brother Fryar home on December 3, 2016.  His love for this fraternity was unwavered, having dedicated 15 spirited years as a member of the organization.

 

The 2015 Black and White Scholarship Ball held on May 2, 2015 was a huge success.  Close to $30,000 in scholarships and prizes awarded the last three years.

The Fraternity Giving Back -

Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. raised over $1.5 million for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to help find cures and save children with pediatric cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Black & White Scholarship Ball

Kappa Charities of the Greater Capital Region, Inc. and the Albany (NY) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. will be hosting its 2014 Black & White Scholarship Ball on Saturday, May 3, 2014. The event will be held at the Colonie Golf and Country Club located at 141 Maple Road Route 85A, Voorheesville, NY. Over 230 people attended the sold out 2013 Scholarship Ball.

The Scholarship Ball is our major fundraising event which supports our scholarship and mentorship programs. Since our scholarship fund's inception, more than 50 students in the Capital District area have received scholarships. Over $10,000 in scholarships and prizes were handed out at the 2013 event to some very talented high school seniors.
A very special part of this event will acknowledge members of the community who have made a positive impact in the areas of community service, mentorship and furthering the education of our youths. We are now accepting nominations for the May 3, 2014 event.

Kappa Charities of the Greater Capital Region, Inc. (KCGCR) is a tax-exempt non-profit organization. It was founded by the Albany (NY) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. KCGCR's mission is to create strong communities and assist area youths in developing options and increased opportunities for success. This is delivered through the Fraternity's Guide Right Program and Kappa League. KCGCR provides scholarships and other financial aid to deserving youths to assist them with their pursuit of higher education.
