Albany (NY) Alumni Chapter 

Founded in 1971

The Krimson & Kream at the Kasino was on May 5, 2018 at Rivers Casino & Resort in Schenectady,  NY.  Over $40,000 in scholarships awarded to high school seniors over the last few years.


The Fraternity and Chapter continues to mourn the loss of our beloved Brother Jeffrey Fryar.  God called Brother Fryar home on December 3, 2016.  His love for this fraternity was unwavered, having dedicated 15 spirited years as a member of the organization.


The 2015 Black and White Scholarship Ball held on May 2, 2015 was a huge success.  Close to $30,000 in scholarships and prizes awarded the last three years.

The Fraternity Giving Back -

Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. raised over $1.5 million for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to help find cures and save children with pediatric cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Desmond Gordon, Vice Polemarch Albany Alumni Chapter 

Desmond Gordon, Vice Polemarch of the Albany (NY) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., will be honored at the upcoming 2019 Black & White Scholarship Ball.

Brother Gordon will receive the Chapter’s Distinguished Chapter Community Service Award.  This honor is awarded to Chapter Fraternity Brothers who are making significant contributions of their time, actions, talent and dedication to assist community causes in addition to any volunteer work done for the fraternity.  Brother Gordon has been a long-time member of Macedonia Baptist Church, where he has been instrumental in the planning and implementation of a variety of programs that address the needs of the congregation and community.  He has also been instrumental in the Albany (NY) Alumni Chapter’s community service efforts, including volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, Albany City Mission, Equinox, and many more.  He is often described as a generous individual who is always doing for others without asking for anything in return. 

Brother Desmond Gordon was initiated into Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. in the Spring of 1984 through the Delta Beta Chapter at Syracuse University and has served in a variety of capacities at the Albany (NY) Alumni Chapter.  He is currently employed as an Associate Radiophysicist for the New York State Department of Health.
